Free

This post is a 55 fiction  - 55 Fiction is a form of micro-fiction that refers to the works of fiction limited to a maximum of fifty-five words

Amit saw his name in the facebook "friend suggestions"
"Shall I call him?"
"What will he think?"
"Will he even talk to me?"
"Would I look smaller?"
"It wasn't entirely my fault"

"What the hell"

He picked up the phone and dialled
"Dude, I am sorry!"

And just like that, he was free.

free from guilt, nice one, when one forgives, the other person feels free....good idea ! could have been more of an article, 55 word fiction has less to offer to a serious reader !

We all make mistakes. Apologizing for them makes us truly "free" of our guild

@SIS Thanks for the appreciation

@Sunil Yes, I agree that 55 word is sometimes too short, but I guess that is the challenge !

Nice one. You seem to have the knack of aptly capturing the common mental turmoils that we undergo. Of course last time you had greater number of words to do justice. Must have been much more challenging doing the same in fewer words this time. But you have pretty well.

Nice One...Sometimes our small actions give us freedom from mind thoughts/questions and guilt..

Like forgiveness can free us from anger and thought of revenge..

ohh, that was concise and pretty nice. Freeing yourself from the guilt by yourself taking the initiative.
Good one Vikram.

Profound, poignant and bang on target!
You have exemplified the maxim that as difficult as it is to stand up to our enemies, it is harder still to stand up to our friends.
And the brevity of your expression, combined with the innocence of the thought, leave no scope for ambiguity.
GREAT piece of writing.

Everyone before me has said in bits and pieces and some in entirety exactly what I wanted to say it but I'll mention it nonetheless.

Misunderstandings are bound to happens, especially with people who are truly our own. We, as you've so eloquently put in the 55 words, must reach out.
